Stoneware Ceramics by Christine Corthorn

All work is handbuilt using coiled and slabbed techniques.Surfaces are carved or textured before the initial bisque firing after which a limited palette of oxides and glazes are used.

Designs develop from natural forms and although some shapes are repeated, each piece is unique.Mixtures of smooth and grogged stoneware clays are used and all work is fired to 1250 in an electric kiln.
